Mazor Surgical Technologies’ latest development for spinal surgeries GO-LIF™ achieved a critical mile stone: GO-LIF Concept passed successfully Bio-Mechanics tests

September 7, 2008, Atlanta, GA and Caesarea, Israel - Mazor Surgical Technologies, developer and manufacturer of the SpineAssist®, and the GO-LIF ® (Guided Oblique InterBody Fusion technology) announced the successful completion of the GO-LIF concept bio-mechanical tests.

GO-LIF, a new innovative product, licensed from Cleveland Clinic Foundation, (originally developed by Dr. I. Lieberman and the CCF team), is a proprietary minimally invasive procedure and implant system enabled by the SpineAssist miniature robotic guided system.

The tests, conducted by an independent FDA certified bio-mechanic lab are a critical step in the development of new GOLIF implants. The Static and Dynamic Axial Compression tests, as required by the American FDA and the European CE, were carried out to check the rigidity and feasibility of the GO-LIF implant construct.

The test results as reported by the independent certified lab supports the GO-LIF concept feasibility and proved to be superior over existing spine stabilization concepts. The results indicate higher stability and rigidity in compare to the average mean value achieved by spinal implants predicate devices.

“We are pleased with the results and believe we overcome a critical milestone in our GO-LIF development process and will enable us to begin the next phase of development and testing.” said Ori Hadomi, Mazor’s Chief Executive Officer.
