They are all strong supporters of Israel-based scientific and medical development, in academia and in commercial enterprises. Their commitment to IHCV portfolio companies extends beyond financial backing as they are uniquely placed to help open doors to global medical and financial expertise and resources.
The members of the Investment Committee are Isaac Kaye, Carlo Salvi, Warren Roiter, Steven Kaye, and Dr. Hadar Ron.
Mr. Isaac Kaye: Mr. Kaye built Norton Healthcare Limited, a UK generic pharmaceutical company, which was acquired by Ivax Corporation in 1990. Subsequent to the merger, Mr. Kaye continued to lead Norton Healthcare Limited and served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Ivax, which was later sold to Teva Pharmaceuticals in 2006. Mr. Kaye has also been active in promoting Israel-based technology and innovation. Among other, he established the Kaye Innovation Awards in order to encourage and recognize technological achievements at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Mr. Carlo Salvi: Mr. Salvi has been involved in the healthcare industry for over 40 years. Mr. Salvi founded Sicor and was its controlling shareholder prior to its acquisition by Teva in 2004. Mr. Salvi formerly served on the Board of Directors of Teva and is one of its largest individual stockholders. Mr. Salvi has significant venture capital investing experience and partnerships in European and Israeli-based firms and numerous CEO and board-level long-term relationships in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields.
Mr. Steven Kaye: Mr. Kaye is a founding partner of Stockton Partners Inc. (New York) and a strategic advisor and member of the general partner of Trevi Health Ventures (new York), two venture capital firms that focus on medical technologies, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. He is also a partner in Baystone Associates Ltd, a London-based asset management company. Mr. Kaye served in a variety of roles and ultimately as Director of Strategic Development at Norton Healthcare, the UK subsidiary of Ivax Corporation. Mr. Kaye graduated cum laude from Brandeis University and the London School of Economics with a BA degree in political science. He received his MBA degree from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Warren Roiter: Mr. Roiter founded and was for 30 years the Senior Partner of a London based law firm which specialised in advising pharmaceutical biotech and healthcare companies. He was actively involved in many of the leading patent and IP cases in the UK and Europe. Mr. Roiter has had a vast experience of a wide range of commercial matters and transactions involving the industry over a great many years. He was highly acclaimed in his field and was regarded as "the experts expert". He is a strategic adviser and member of the general partner of Trevi Health Ventures based in New York. Mr. Roiter retired from legal practice to concentrate on his business activities which includes his interests and involvement in IHCV and its investments.
