They are all strong supporters of Israel-based scientific and medical development, in academia and in commercial enterprises. The members of the Investment Committee are Isaac Kaye, Carlo Salvi, Warren Roiter, Steven Kaye, and Dr. Hadar Ron.
Mr. Isaac Kaye: Mr. Kaye built Norton Healthcare Limited, a UK generic pharmaceutical company, which was acquired by Ivax Corporation in 1990. Subsequent to the merger, Mr. Kaye continued to lead Norton Healthcare Limited and served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Ivax, which was later sold to Teva Pharmaceuticals in 2006. Mr. Kaye has also been active in promoting Israel-based technology and innovation. Among other, he established the Kaye Innovation Awards in order to encourage and recognize technological achievements at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Mr. Carlo Salvi: Mr. Salvi has been involved in the healthcare industry for over 40 years. Mr. Salvi founded Sicor and was its controlling shareholder prior to its acquisition by Teva in 2004. Mr. Salvi formerly served on the Board of Directors of Teva and is one of its largest individual stockholders. Mr. Salvi has significant venture capital investing experience and partnerships in European and Israeli-based firms and numerous CEO and board-level long-term relationships in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields.
Mr. Steven Kaye: Mr. Kaye is a founding partner of Stockton Partners Inc. (New York) and a strategic advisor and member of the general partner of Trevi Health Ventures (new York), two venture capital firms that focus on medical technologies, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. He is also a partner in Baystone Associates Ltd, a London-based asset management company. Mr. Kaye served in a variety of roles and ultimately as Director of Strategic Development at Norton Healthcare, the UK subsidiary of Ivax Corporation. Mr. Kaye graduated cum laude from Brandeis University and the London School of Economics with a BA degree in political science. He received his MBA degree from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Warren Roiter: Mr. Roiter is Senior Partner and co-founder of Roiter Zucker, a London-based law firm specializing in the life sciences industry, with an emphasis in intellectual property, technology transfer and joint ventures. Mr. Roiter is a strategic advisor and member of the general partner of Trevi Health Ventures (New York). Mr. Roiter has acted for companies in the life sciences industry for over 25 years and now acts as counsel for, and as consultant and advisor to, individuals and corporations in the life sciences field both in the UK and internationally.
